Introduction
No city is more befitting of its name than Magic City. Almost half of the city is suspended from the ground, floating on circular discs, some rising a hundred feet into the air. It is considered to be the go-to city for magic users around the world, boasting the finest Arcane College, and experimental labs to date. This bustling metropolis was founded a rare mana geyser by a group of sages who were searching for rare artifacts. After realizing the potential of the geysers, they tapped into its power and built a magnificent city.
Magic City is the capital of Southern Maiga, and is the second largest city next to Shinlov. It is the administrative city over all port trade, and regulates the governments of Sou, Hai, Diva and Orange.
Given the sunny weather known in the Harate region, many of Magic City's buildings incorporate a large amount of glass. This is also due to the abundance of sand in the region. In order not to put too much weight on the floating homes, many structures are built uses magically tendered wood, to make it as durable as a metal, without gaining much weight. As it turns out Magic City is not prone to being in range of storms, being far enough inland from the sea.
Places of Interest
The Magic Academy of Arts
Consisting of a multitude of buildings, the Magic Academy of Arts is the largest building in Magic City, and holds a tribute to its sage founders. They offer various magical services, as well as sell tomes, and other trinkets that can aid in one's magic. The downside of the Academy is that it's prestige makes it expensive. Most self practices can't afford the high grade services the academy offers. However, many of the professors and scholars there are willing to give out free tips on what is happening around the land.
Presently, the leader of the Magic Academy is a man named Arthur, though he is often too busy to listen to most adventurers.
Enrollment into the Magic Academy of Arts is currently set at 80,000. The perks of being a student is access to many of the Academy's resources without the public fee, as well as a dormitory to stay in where you can safely store items and rest when tired.
